Pondcare Accu-Clear Water Clarifier works by causing the dirt, silt, and floating particles to aggregate and form larger, microscopic clusters which fall to the bottom of the pond or are removed by the pond filter. It works quickly to clear cloudy pond water, maintains already clear water, and helps filters function more efficiently. The 16 flow ounces provided in this container treats up to 4,800 gallons of pond water. Use 1 Tbsp of Accu-Clear per 150 gallons of pond water. For best results, add the dose to a gallon of pond water and distribute evenly around the perimeter of the pond. Rinse filter pads frequently when cleaning pond water. For maintenance, use once weekly. Before using Accu-Clear, make certain that the pond has a vigorous aeration (i.e.: a fountain, waterfall, or aeration device). During hot summer months, pond water contains very little oxygen, and in some cases may be the major source of oxygen in a pond. However, submerged plans and algae consume oxygen at night. Organic matter also consumes oxygen while decomposing. When organic matter is removed by the filter or settles to the bottom of the pond, the oxygen levels may drop to harmful levels if adequate aeration is not provided. Therefore, when using Accu-Clear during the warm summer months, adequate aeration is required to avoid fish death. Do not shut off pond pumps and aeration devices at night! Aeration must be provided for pond life at all times. If adequate aeration is provided, oxygen levels will not drop to harmful levels.
